Inse Rail to update the remodeling project of the Valencia-Fuente de San Luis terminal

3 January, 2021

Adif has awarded the railway engineering company Railthe contract to update the construction project for phase one of the remodeling works of the Valencia-Fuente de San Luis intermodal and logistics terminal. The contract total is 429,582.50 euros, with a completion deadline of 10 months. The objective is to adapt the project to the current technical, regulatory and commercial conditions, which allow the construction and operation of the terminalwithin the framework of the agreement signed in April 2019between the former Ministry of Public Works (now the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda), the Generalitat Valenciana, Valencia City Council, Adif, Puertos del Estado and the Port Authority of Valencia.

The successful bidder will adapt the project to the current technical, regulatory and commercial conditions

The railway manager has indicated that the remodeling project includes the definition of an intermodal terminal for handling trains at least 740 meters in length on conventional and standard gages, including infrastructure, superstructure and associated railway installations, as well as its road network. By virtue of this agreement, the necessary land and financial contributions will be made to enable the construction of the facility, so that it is put into service at the same time as the Mediterranean Corridor, which will make it possible to run standard gage trains between Valencia and the French border.

This intermodal and logistics facility is located next to the port of Valencia and forms part of the Trans-European transport network. It will also be connected to the development of the Logistics Activities Zone (LAZ) of the port of Valenciaand Mercavalencia. Adif has emphasized that since it is a strategic node for the structuring of the national transport and logistics system, it requires optimal infrastructure and equipment and the possibility of offering first class intermodal and logistics services. The entities included in the agreement continue to make progress on other important issues to achieve their objectives, which will facilitate, among others, the installation of logistics companies and the selection of an operator to provide the services.

Travel on the Zamora- Pedralba section begins, 110 km built based on an INSE RAIL project, equipped with technology from Thales and Siemens

12 September, 2019

Starting last week, passengers on the Madrid-Galicia line have begun to benefit from a safer and faster route, with the inauguration of the Zamora-Pedralba high-speed section, corresponding to the Madrid-Galicia High-Speed Corridor. This section goes into commercial service with the Thales ERTMS Level 2 system from Madrid Chamartín, which will make it possible to reduce total travel time to all of the Galician provincial capitals by between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the city.

INSE RAIL contributed to this milestone by developing the construction project for the safety and communications installations of the Zamora-Pedralba section of the Madrid-Galicia High Speed Line for THALSI (Thales-Siemens) joint venture.

The commissioning of this section reduces the resulting times from Madrid by 1h 26′ to Pontevedra, 1h 02′ to Lugo, 41′ to Santiago de Compostela, 39′ to Orense, 31′ to Vigo and 24′ to La Coruña, benefiting the more than 5 million passengers who travel between Madrid and Galicia each year, as well as the 500,000 who travel between the capitals of Castilla-León and Madrid.

With these 110 km of new line, the Madrid-Orense high-speed line becomes one of the lines with the most kilometers of ERTMS level 2 in commercial service in Spain, exceeding 340 km, improving passenger safety and allowing speeds of up to 300 km/h.

The Pedralba-Taboadela-Orense section, on which INSE RAIL is also working together with the THALSI joint venture, still remains to be completed to make the entire Madrid-Galicia line high speed.

The Spanish company Inse Rail, together with Rejlers from Sweden, awarded the contract for the planning and design of the Goteborg tramway projects

8 May, 2017

The City Council of Goteborg – Sweden’s second most important city, has selected the local company Rejlers as one of the four companies to supply engineering services for the municipal tramway. The activities are limited to the railway tracks and the platform.

The contract for this project, which includes the design of the layout for the urban railway, was obtained in close collaboration with the consultant Inse Rail.  In the words of Niklas Mårtensson, head of Business and Infrastructure Projects at Rejlers, “the Spanish firm has extensive experience in light rail projects in Spain as well as in other parts of the world’.

To date, according to the company in a press release, the Swedish engineering firm has maintained close ties with Goteborg, with this collaboration increasing recently thanks to the large number of construction and remodeling works that the city is carrying out in relation to its tramway. This infrastructure, covering 150 kilometers, is Scandinavia’s most important tramway network.

The agreement was signed for two years, with the possibility of extending it for two more years. The tasks assigned to Inse Rail and Rejlers include feasibility studies, project planning, research and evaluation of the worksite conditions, ownership plans, preparation of documents concerning the tendering process, construction, and contracting, as well as technical questions in regard to the route and platforms.

Rejlers is one of the companies in the area of engineering and industrial consulting in the Nordic region. Inse Rail has more than 20 years of highly specialized experience in the railway sector, and specifically, in railway installations and systems. The company carries out its activities in the railway, industrial, energy, and building construction sectors, covering the different stages of planning, design, construction, and operation of investments. Some of its more important projects include the upgrading of the signaling systems of Line 5 of Metro de Madrid; the track, EMC and RAMS systems on the California high-speed line; the installations on the Kozhúkhoskaya line of the Moscow metro; and civil protection in the Madrid-Atocha Commuter Rail Station.
