Inse Rail, in a joint venture with the companies Tekia and Airtren, is executing this assistance contract, which applies to all of the subsystems both in the Conventional and High Speed areas of the Encina- Xàtiva-Valencia interchange section of the Mediterranean Corridor. This section is part of the future High Speed Line that will connect Valencia and Alicante.

The assistance includes the control and monitoring of the actions related to the preparation of the projects, execution of the works, tests and commissioning of the installations of the interlockings; Centralized Traffic Control; train protection systems, auxiliary detection and power supply systems; fixed and mobile telecommunications (GSM-R and train-ground), and protection and safety facilities and conditions.

All starting at the beginning of the works through commissioning and delivery of the facilities to maintenance, according to the plans and schedule established by the works contractors for both the High Speed and Conventional sections.

The project will be carried out in two phases. Phase one will include all of the necessary actions to start-up a new conventional-gage section between Font de la Figuera and the Xàtiva station, as well as the execution of all of the high-speed safety installations in the Aguaverde Split-La Teja Interchange Split and Xàtiva-València sections. Phase two will consist of adapting the existing conventional-gage section between the La Teja interchange and Xàtiva to standard gage, and also outfitting the entire route with high-speed signaling and a European rail traffic management system (ERTMS).

The total completion period for the contract is 40 months.
