The first line of the Bahía de Cádiz Metropolitan Tramway will connect the towns of Chiclana de la Frontera, San Fernando, and Cádiz, with a total length of 24 kilometers. Of these, 13.7 kilometers will run on a new platform constructed between Chiclana and San Fernando, and the remaining 10.3 kilometers will take advantage of the existing Seville-Cádiz railway line.

The first line of the Bahía de Cádiz Metropolitan Tramway will connect the towns of Chiclana de la Frontera, San Fernando, and Cádiz, with a total length of 24 kilometers. Of these, 13.7 kilometers will run on a new platform constructed between Chiclana and San Fernando, and the remaining 10.3 kilometers will take advantage of the existing Seville-Cádiz railway line. It will have 22 stops (17 in the first stretch and five in the extension to Cadiz). The travel time end to end will be slightly more than half an hour and the line will provide service to up to 233,500 people (located within 500 meters of a stop).

Inse Rail provides the project management for the energy installation works (tramway catenary and CR-160 and four traction substations, in addition to one receiving substation), systems (signaling, digital transmission network for landline communications, TETRA mobile communications network, operations assistance system, public-address system, ticketing, CCTV and passenger information) and workshop and depot equipment (catenary, power supply, train washing plant, paint booths, measurement and control equipment).
