The Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF) has been awarded the contract for the consulting and technical assistance services for the drafting of the construction projects of the traction electrical substation, and associated self-transformation centers, and the energy remote control of the Ronda-Algeciras section of the Bobadilla-Algeciras line.
The selected company is Inse Rail SL, and the contract has already been formalized for a total of 207,856.62 euros (including taxes). The completion time for the works is eight months from the date of the formalization of the contract.
This construction project is part of the Strategic Infrastructure and Transport plan, with the Bobadilla-Algeciras Railway as one of the elements to be upgraded to adapt it to high speed. The entire line will be electrified at 25 kV AC, compatible with AVE trains, which means that the line will be able to be used by AVE, Avant, conventional diesel and freight trains.
The project requires the installation of 2 x 25 kV systems with all of the necessary traction elements in the electrification installations, consisting of two 400/ 2 x 27.5 kV and 30 MVA traction substations, 9 intermediate self-transformation centers (ATI) and 2 final self-transformation centers (ATF), as well as the design of the energy telecontrol on the Bobadilla-Algeciras line.
The project is funded by the European Union through the ERDF funds.
