The first phase of the expansion and comprehensive refurbishment of the Valencia-Fuente de San Luis Intermodal Terminal has been successfully completed, preparing the facility to begin operations on the Iberian-gauge network. This milestone marks significant progress for a strategic project whose engineering and detailed design were developed by Inse Rail for ADIF.
With an investment of more than €45 million, the project will significantly increase the terminal’s operational capacity, strengthening its role as a key freight hub within the Mediterranean Corridor and the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The project developed by Inse Rail included the comprehensive design of the terminal’s expansion and modernisation, covering new intermodal tracks, railway infrastructure, electrification, signalling and telecommunications systems, as well as the associated logistics facilities and urban development required to improve the terminal’s operational efficiency.
The completion of this first phase represents an important step towards the full operation of the Valencia-Fuente de San Luis terminal and highlights Inse Rail’s contribution to the development of strategic railway infrastructure that supports more efficient, sustainable and competitive freight transport in Spain.
