Throughout this major project, INSE RAIL has supported Adif during the key stages of the works, maintaining its involvement from the beginning of construction through to the commissioning of the new infrastructure.
In 2021, Adif awarded the TYPSA–INSE RAIL Joint Venture the consultancy and technical assistance contract for the supervision of the construction works of the new rail access to the airport terminal. The Joint Venture provided technical support throughout the execution of this highly complex infrastructure project.
Subsequently, in 2024, Adif once again entrusted the TYPSA–INSE RAIL Joint Venture with the consultancy and technical assistance contract for supervising the completion of the works and the activities required to bring the new rail access into service. This second contract ensured continuity in the technical support provided during the construction phase and throughout the final steps leading to the commissioning of the infrastructure.
INSE RAIL’s involvement in both phases highlights the confidence placed by Adif in the company’s technical team and reinforces its expertise in the supervision and technical assistance of major railway infrastructure projects, supporting clients from the construction stage through to the successful commissioning of strategic transport assets.
The upcoming commissioning of the new rail access to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport will significantly enhance connectivity to Catalonia’s main airport, increase the capacity of the public transport network and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable mobility system.
