SRO, Saudi Arabia’s state railway enterprise, is building a 453-kilometer high-speed rail line called the Haramain High Speed Rail (HHR) that will link the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
SRO, Saudi Arabia’s state railway enterprise, is building a 453-kilometer high-speed rail line called the Haramain High Speed Rail (HHR) that will link the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The contracts cover the platform, stations, superstructure and line operation. It will initially be equipped for circulation of 35 trains, with plans to expand the fleet to between 55 and 100 units in the future.
The project also includes the construction and commissioning of two train maintenance workshops located in the cities of Medina and Mecca. Inse Rail is providing the project management for Renfe Ksa for the construction of the railway corridor’s workshops and depots, including control and management of the works; planning, monitoring and implementation of corrective measures; economic control and management, proposing solutions to optimize deadlines and costs, as well as the control and management of the tender processes for the complementary works, all while maintaining the dialogue with the Saudi Owner and its engineering consultants.
