The Metro de Madrid network has infrastructure in which asbestos is present in some of the surfacing materials, pipes, etc. because of when it was built. Properly identifying all materials with asbestos ensures that they can be removed, eliminating the risk of exposure in cases of a break or deterioration.
Since asbestos fibers have been detected in different elements, such as fiber cement plates in roofs and suspended ceilings located in the stations of the Metro network, a full identification of materials in the network of stations, tunnels, depots and dependencies of Metro de Madrid that could possibly contain asbestos is required as part of the preventive planning.
Inse Rail has been and sampling elements that could potentially contain asbestos since 2017, and currently has a department that is highly specialized and has extensive experience in identifying elements that contain asbestos and in the collection of samples.
Inse Rail has carried out similar works in public buildings, as well as in stations, tunnels and on rolling stock.
Some of the more recent work was carried out for the entities that manage public transport in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona, as well as for different municipal bodies, such as the Barcelona City Council, the Seville City Council or the Getafe City Council, and for state agencies, such as the Ministry of Culture.
