ADIF has awarded Inse Rail, as part of a joint venture, the contract to draft the Study of Alternatives, the Basic Project and the Construction Project for the accessible connection between platforms, adaptation and return to service of the old Almodóvar del Río Station (Cordoba), currently not in use, so that it can provide service to passengers on the Valle del Guadalquivir commuter trains.
The project includes the remodeling and adaptation of the facilities and the refurbishment of the accesses, as well work in the track yard to put it into service.
The terminal consists of two general tracks and two narrow platforms, separated from the high-speed tracks by a concrete block wall. There is an underpass under the tracks that connects the northern part, where the old passenger building is located, and the southern part, which is further away from the town.
A study of alternatives will be carried out and the project that is developed will guarantee the safe pedestrian connection and accessibility of passengers to the station.
The contract completion deadline is 18 months for the drafting of the project for the connection of the platforms, adaptation and return to service of the station, with 12 months (Stage 2) of support for the project during the works phase.
