The Seville City Council has contracted Inse Rail to carry out the analysis and preparation of a census on the location, economic valuation, definition of the procedure and calendar programming for the removal of fiber cement and construction components associated with asbestos in municipal buildings.
The contract includes the drafting of individualized reports for each property, the test holes required to view hidden elements in the buildings, the planning of the asbestos removal according to the applicable regulations, the cataloging of the hazard levels, as well as the publication of the results.
A management plan will be drawn up to specify the treatment, estimated cost to dismantle and remove the asbestos in each of the public municipal buildings, which will be prioritized based on level of danger and exposure to the most vulnerable population. This calendar planning for the asbestos removal will be prepared annually, with the process completed no later than 2028, prioritizing the risk levels involved.
This action was promoted in compliance with the recent approval of Law 7/2022 of the Government of Spain which defines the regulatory framework for the preparation of these censuses by municipalities.
With this contract, Inse Rail continues to strengthen its position as a leading company in the provision of services to identify asbestos, a service that it has already provided for Metro de Madrid, Metro de Valencia, Metro de Barcelona, the Ministry of Culture, the Getafe City Council and the Barcelona City Council.
